# The Ministry of State Secretariat: An Overview and 2025 Internship Opportunities

The Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia serves as a vital pillar in the nation's governance, operating under the direct authority of and reporting to the President. Since its inception, the institution has played an essential role in providing the necessary technical, administrative, and analytical support to both the President and the Vice President, ensuring the effective execution of state governance.

## A Historical Perspective of the Ministry
The history of the Ministry of State Secretariat is deeply intertwined with the birth of the Republic of Indonesia. On August 17, 1945, the nation declared its independence, and shortly thereafter, on August 18, 1945, Ir. Soekarno and Drs. Mohammad Hatta were appointed as the first President and Vice President.

By September 2, 1945, President Soekarno established the first Cabinet of the Republic of Indonesia. This foundational government included the designation of a State Secretary and a Presidential Spokesperson. Over the decades, the Ministry has evolved significantly in its structure, functions, and responsibilities. What began as a focused office for presidential administrative duties has transformed into a comprehensive ministry that provides strategic analytical support, reflecting the dynamic political shifts and administrative needs of the country.
