The National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) serves as the leading national independent institution dedicated to eliminating violence against women and upholding fundamental human rights. Established under Presidential Decree No. 181 of 1998 and reaffirmed by Presidential Regulation No. 8 of 2024, the commission is now inviting passionate professionals and emerging talent to join our mission through critical roles within our Legal and Policy Reform Division.
## Support Our Mission: Internship Opportunity
To foster public engagement and commemorate two decades of the Law on the Elimination of Domestic Violence (UU PKdRT), Komnas Perempuan is seeking three dedicated interns. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact advocacy work during a three-month term, running from June to September 2024.
## Professional Opportunities: Legal and Policy Reform Division
The Legal and Policy Reform Division drives the commission’s efforts to harmonize national and local regulations with constitutional standards and international human rights instruments. We are currently recruiting for two pivotal coordinator roles to strengthen our advocacy and policy development framework.
1. Assistant Coordinator: National Policy Analysis and Advocacy
* Role Code: 021-AKRHK-KTN-2024
* Status: One-year contract
This position focuses on national-level policy evaluation and legislative advocacy. The successful candidate will spearhead research, draft policy recommendations, and maintain high-level dialogues with executive and legislative stakeholders.
* Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Law or Social Sciences preferred).
* At least 4 years of experience in policy analysis or human rights advocacy.
* Proven proficiency in legal drafting and qualitative/quantitative research.
* Demonstrated experience in stakeholder mapping and high-level lobbying at the national level.
* Strong commitment to victim-centered justice and confidentiality.
2. Assistant Coordinator: Regional Policy Analysis and Advocacy
* Role Code: 023-AKRHK-KTD-2024
* Status: One-year contract
This role mirrors the national function but focuses on the regional landscape. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between local policy implementation and human rights standards, ensuring that regional regulations effectively protect women's rights.
* Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Law or Social Sciences preferred).
* At least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
* Deep expertise in regional policy evaluation and human rights advocacy.
* Excellent ability to manage work plans, budgets, and reporting.
* Capacity to operate in field-based, high-pressure, and emergency environments.
## Core Responsibilities for Coordinator Roles
Both positions require professionals who can seamlessly integrate into our dynamic environment. Your primary duties will include:
* Assisting the Division Coordinator in developing policy analysis, recommendations, and strategic evaluations.
* Preparing comprehensive work plans, budgetary proposals, and program reports.
* Managing advocacy efforts by mapping key stakeholders and fostering partnerships with civil society, legislative bodies, and government agencies.
* Attending official meetings and coordinating internal communication to ensure program efficiency.
* Providing expert support for legal drafting and legislative lobbying efforts.
